Two Poems

NIGHT

The sun has fallen

For a much-needed rest to

Prepare tomorrow.

Slowly, stars emerge

With the moon not far behind,

Bringing gentle light.

Some man-made lights turn

On for those not yet ready

To call it a day.

For some, the night is

When they return to work so

Others can slumber.

As many places

Are shrouded in darkness, a

Few become brighter.

This brings fun seekers

Closer with many colors

To remain active.

As time passes, the

Energy for fun fades and

So comes the first yawns.

While the day may be

Hours away, the lights try

To stay in control.

Until dawn’s first glow,

Night holds on with a black veil

Adorned with small gems.

As the night owls

Return home, the moon slowly

Sinks to receive rest.

DAY

Sunlight rolls over

The horizon to give life

To the sleepy land.

The stars slowly fade

With the darkness of night to

Get their needed rest.

As the rays bring warmth

To the land, many people

Rise to start their days.

After resting for so

Long, it’s nice to enjoy the

Fresh, crisp morning air.

Even if nothing

Happens on this day, take time

To find some solace.

Life comes with many

Chaotic moments that can

Really take a toll.

Find time to get some

Much needed rest for yourself

To help recover.

Even if we have

Duties to attend to, stop

To breathe in silence.

You can’t be at your

Best for others if no one

Brings you fleeting peace.

Enjoy you day as

Best as possible, but please

Keep your strength alive.
